I can’t tell you how much our whole family appreciates the kind and loving care our Mom & stepdad (Don & Gladys) receive from you all. You truly go above and beyond every single day…and I know it’s not the easiest task! My bro Eric, sis Lynn & I all call it “herding cattle” when we take them out. Like little kids, we “lose” them momentarily in restaurants, Rite Aid, etc. as they somehow wander (in Don’s case – “shuffle” off!)
In particular, Mom has always been so dedicated to church, and it’s very important to her and I know how much she misses it. Special thanks for today (Good Friday) when Pastor Shea came from her church in Kingston, and had service – you made sure to give her time after reminding her, to make sure she got to the service. She was on cloud 9 when we talked afterwards! Also, thanks to everyone that allows her to take care of the plants – indoors and out. She takes great care pride and comfort in being “out of doors” (as she calls it) in nature and definitely has always had a green thumb – another passion.
I know it’s not an easy job, but God bless you all for doing it, and doing it so well with such patience. See you all in May! Thanks again!
Dear Jeff and Gina,
On behalf of my extended family, I address this letter to you, but it is really an “open letter” for all the staff at Colonial Poplin Way/Colonial Poplin Way (PW/CPW) and express the combined experiences of all of us. Please share with everyone.
During the nearly ten months of Mom’s residence, I felt the entire community of PW/CPW staff had become an extension of my family in all regards. You were sensitive to Mom’s independence and provided assistance as needed. You candidly communicated your observations and concerns as did I. always in the best interest of providing the best and most comfortable environment for Mom. Additionally, each of you always took time to answer questions or just listen when I needed to talk. Mom and I experienced exactly what Jeff described at the outset. I am truly grateful and thankful for your combined efforts.
Apologies beforehand for not mentioning everyone I met, for misspelling names etc. I do love each of you at PW/CPW and any errors or omissions are unintentional.
I want to thank Alexz, Eweki, Kim, and Morgan at CPW for managing a difficult transition for Mom with great skill and preserving her dignity.
Thanks to the Dining Hall staff for remembering Mom’s oatmeal and for cutting her food as she struggled with arthritic hands.
Beth and Betsy, you are a great administrative duo, an integral part of the PW/CPW community. Beth, thanks for your efforts with LTC Insurance – you made it seamless, timely and accurate.
Corey, thanks for maintaining the medical component of Mom’s care. You have a calming and patient bedside demeanor.
Final thanks to Holly for the support, the team discussions and the guidance in an area “I had never ventured into before”.
Bottom line for us – your facility is a complete package and all parts and people work very well together. I would not hesitate to discuss and recommend (and have already) Poplin Way/Colonial Poplin Way to anyone and you may be comfortable using me as a reference. Best wishes for continued success.
Sincerely,
Thank you for the loving care Buzzy received from all of you and the support our family was given during his last days. Everyone there is compassionate and caring, assuming any role necessary to keep true to your ideals. We are grateful we found Colonial Poplin to care for our beloved husband and father.
